Tauranga LandSAR helps to provide a safety net for the rare occasions when trips into the back-country don’t go as planned.  

Our operations are provided free of charge to the lost, missing or injured.

We provide specialist search and rescue services free of charge to the New Zealand Police in the greater Western Bay of Plenty.

SAR operations can involve working in conjunction with Coastguard, NZ surf lifesaving and the and the Phillips Search and Rescue Helicopter Trust.

We operate in suburban, urban, wilderness, forest parks, rural areas, shorelines, or wherever people are lost.

We are farmers, business owners, doctors, lawyers, nurses, students and retirees - all with a passion for the outdoors and helping people.

USING TECHNOLOGY TO FIND PEOPLE FASTER

WanderSearch provides a tracking system utilised by the New Zealand Police, and Land Search & Rescue volunteers to search for people who have the potential to go out for a walk and not be able to return without assistance. It is a fast and effective method of locating the person and returning them to a safe environment.
